Full Job Description

Medical / Dental / Vision Insurance

Employees are eligible for Blue Cross/Blue Shield (BC/BS) medical and dental insurance coverage and EyeMed vision coverage on the first day of the month following two complete months of employment.
The Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires that every employee has basic medical insurance. BNC provides $400 per employee per month for single, $600 per month for two-person and $700 per month for family medical coverage. Employees will be charged for additional costs beyond the allotment in equal payments each pay period. If the employee waives medical coverage the employee will receive a $1200 Opt-Out Bonus on the last pay check of the month in January if the employee is eligible for BNC medical insurance on January 1.
Flexible Spending Account

BNC offers both a Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and a Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA) on a pre-tax basis. Employees may elect to contribute up to $1,500 per year for the FSA and $5,000 for the DCFSA. Employees are eligible for these programs on the first day of the month following two complete months of employment.
Short Term & Long Term Disability

Employees are eligible for both short and long term disability coverage on the first day of the month following six months of employment. This benefit is provided by BNC.
Life Insurance

On the first day of the month following two complete months of employment, BNC provides employees coverage under the group life policy in the amount of $100,000. In the case of accidental death the additional benefit is $100,000. Employees may purchase $100,000 guarantee issue additional coverage for themselves, for their spouses ($25,000 guarantee issue) or for their children ($10,000 each).
401(k) Retirement Plan

This is a qualified retirement plan in which contributions are tax-deferred. Employees are eligible to enroll in the John Hancock Retirement Plan following three months of full time employment at the beginning of a quarter, on December 1, March 1, June 1 or September 1.
Paid Holidays

BNC provides six paid holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Eligibility begins after six weeks of employment and employees must work the day before and after the holiday to receive holiday pay.
Second Shift & Third Shift Premium

Employees regularly scheduled to work second or third shift receive a $1.00 per hour shift premium.
Continuing Education Tuition Reimbursement

Employees will be reimbursed their tuition expenses for satisfactorily completing pre-approved courses with a grade of C (2.0) or better, or with a ‘Pass’ for ‘Pass/Fail’ courses. Once an employee has completed six months with BNC, he/she is eligible to enroll in classes that may be reimbursed through this program.
Employee Assistance Plan

Metropolitan Family Services is available for employees and their family members for confidential counseling.
Vacations
Vacation time for hourly employees will be awarded according to the following plan:
- Employees first year: 1 week (40 hours) or 2.5 days (20 hours) if hired after July 1
- Employees with 2 complete years (as of January 1): 2 weeks (80 hours)
- Employees with 3 complete years (as of January 1): 3 weeks (120 hours)
- Employees with 10 complete years (as of January 1): 4 weeks (160 hours)
Only earned vacation time will be paid if employment is terminated.
Tools

Employees working in the manufacturing areas will be required to have certain basic tools, including 6” calipers. These tools may be purchased via payroll deduction.

Uniforms

BNC has made arrangements with Cintas to have uniforms available to employees who want them, after six (6) weeks of employment. The Cintas representative visits BNC on Friday mornings.

Free Bread Wednesday’s

Every Wednesday BNC provides one loaf of fresh bread to each employee. The bread is made by Crust, a renowned bakery in Fenton.

Machine Maintenance Mechanic I (MMM-I)

The Machine Maintenance Mechanic I (MMM-I) is the first of 3 levels of BNC Machine Maintenance Mechanics, typically requiring two years of training & up to one year of experience, or the equivalent. With readily available technical guidance, the MMM-I keeps plant machinery and mechanical equipment in good repair. The MMM-I examines machines to diagnose trouble, dismantles machines, replaces defective parts, reassembles machines, makes necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation and performs Preventive Maintenance (PM) activities. Much of the time is spent assisting more experienced maintenance mechanics. The pay range for this position is $14-$20.
