Job Summary
Facility is seeking an experienced Travel ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to provide exceptional care for critically ill adult patients in a fast-paced acute care environment. The ICU RN functions as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care while collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff.
The RN is responsible for comprehensive patient assessment, implementation of individualized care plans, continuous monitoring of critically ill patients, and rapid response to changes in patient condition. Practice is guided by the Wellstar Professional Practice Model, Shared Governance Model, and the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill ICU patients.
- Perform detailed patient assessments and ongoing reassessments.
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic status, and critical care equipment.
- Administer IV medications, blood products, vasopressors, sedation, and other critical care therapies.
- Operate and monitor life-support equipment including ventilators and infusion pumps.
- Recognize and respond promptly to changes in patient condition and emergency situations.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and update individualized patient care plans.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation.
- Adhere to infection prevention, patient safety, and hospital regulatory standards.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support evidence-based nursing practice.
- Float to the Inpatient Burn Unit as needed based on staffing requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent ICU Registered Nurse experience in an acute care hospital.
- Active Georgia RN License or Multi-State Compact RN License.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (or obtain within 180 days if applicable).
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing program.

- Previous travel nursing experience.
- Experience caring for mechanically ventilated and hemodynamically unstable patients.

Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is an experienced ICU RN with recent acute care critical care experience who is comfortable managing high-acuity patients, ventilators, vasoactive drips, and rapidly changing clinical situations. Candidates should demonstrate excellent clinical judgment, teamwork, adaptability, and a commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
Pay: $45.00 - $48.00 per hour
