Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum plans that promote early childhood development, literacy education, and social-emotional skills.
- Engage children in educational activities that support classroom management, behavior management, and classroom routines.
- Provide attentive toddler care, including feeding, diapering, and supervising play to ensure safety at all times.
- Incorporate special education strategies and early intervention techniques to support children with diverse learning needs.
- Conduct assessments of child development progress through observations and standardized testing when applicable.
- Manage classroom environments effectively, maintaining organization and cleanliness while fostering a positive learning atmosphere.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about child welfare, progress, and classroom activities to build strong partnerships.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in a child care setting, preschool, or private school settings with a focus on childhood development instruction.
- Knowledge of curriculum development principles such as Montessori or other early childhood education methodologies.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws and child welfare standards to ensure compliance and safety.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, parents, and children.
- Experience with lesson planning, classroom management, and teaching physical education or tutoring sessions for young learners.
- Demonstrated understanding of early intervention strategies and special education practices.
- Relevant certifications in early childhood education or preschool teaching are preferred; prior classroom experience is essential.
