Job Title: Electro-Mechanical Maintenance Mechanic (1st, 2nd and 3rd Shift)
Job Description
This role focuses on maintaining and repairing production equipment in a food manufacturing environment, with approximately 80% of the work being mechanical and 20% electrical. You will independently perform preventive and corrective maintenance on process equipment, including chillers and boilers, ensuring reliable operation and minimal downtime. The position requires strong troubleshooting skills, experience in a GMP environment, and the ability to understand Allen Bradley PLCs while working safely and efficiently across multiple shifts.
Responsibilities

Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on machinery and process equipment to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

Diagnose and repair mechanical issues involving hydraulics, pneumatics, and related electrical systems to restore equipment to proper operation.

Perform emergency troubleshooting and repairs when equipment breakdowns occur to quickly resume production.

Work with chillers, boilers, and other critical utilities, including start-up, shutdown, and troubleshooting activities.

Replace or repair defective parts using appropriate hand tools, power tools, and machinery to ensure reliable equipment performance.

Test repaired machinery and equipment to verify proper operation and performance against specifications.

Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and work orders to determine the required maintenance and service tasks.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standard operating procedures, and GMP requirements while maintaining a clean and orderly work area.

Document all repair and maintenance activities accurately for record-keeping and compliance purposes.

Recommend improvements or modifications to equipment, processes, or maintenance practices to enhance system performance and reliability.

Work independently with minimal supervision, managing priorities and responding promptly to maintenance requests across the facility.

Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members and production staff, including using bilingual (Spanish) skills where helpful for coordination and safety.
Essential Skills

Proven experience as a maintenance mechanic or in a similar maintenance technician role in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Experience working in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) environment.

Strong understanding of mechanics, pneumatics, and hydraulics, including troubleshooting and repair.

Ability to perform approximately 80% mechanical and 20% electrical maintenance work.

Experience with process equipment, including start-up, operation, and troubleshooting.

Comfort working with chillers and boilers as part of facility and process utilities.

Working understanding of Allen Bradley PLCs sufficient to support troubleshooting and maintenance activities.

Proficiency using a variety of power tools and hand tools safely and effectively.

Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy loads as required by the job.

Strong problem-solving and organizational skills with the ability to work independently.

Bilingual (Spanish) communication skills.

Valid driver’s license is preferred.
