SGM Automotive is expanding our internal operations and seeking a highly experienced Automotive Technician who takes pride in precise, consistent, high‑quality mechanical work. This position supports internal vehicle inventory only—no retail customers, no service‑drive pressure, and no upselling.
What You'll Work On
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on internal inventory vehicles, including engine work, cooling systems, suspension, steering, brakes, and drivetrain components.
- Complete moderate to complex mechanical repairs and reconditioning tasks that prepare vehicles for resale.
- Manage your own workflow and repair queue with minimal supervision—ideal for techs who know how to stay productive without being micromanaged.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safety‑focused workspace.
- Communicate clearly with SGM leadership regarding repair needs, parts, and timelines
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years of hands‑on automotive repair experience with a strong track record of accuracy and low rework.
- Advanced mechanical and diagnostic skills; able to troubleshoot efficiently and confidently.
- GM experience is a plus, not a requirement.
- Proven ability to work independently and maintain high productivity without constant oversight.
- Exceptional attention to detail—from diagnostics to documentation.
- PA State Inspection license is a plus, not required.
- ASE certifications preferred but not required; willingness to continue developing your skills is valued.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable attendance.
