We are seeking an Apprentice to support our Lasting Department by preparing boots by soaking them to soften the leather, stretching and nailing the leather around the toe and corners, gluing the leather insole, and ensuring a proper fit by matching the last and boot size. This role is essential to maintaining our standards of craftsmanship and ensuring consistent product quality.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and Soften Leather: Soak boots to soften leather for proper stretching.

Stretch, Nail, and Fit: Stretch and nail leather at key points; confirm sizing and fit the last inside each boot.

Secure and Mold: Glue leather to the insole and finish stretching to ensure an even, secure mold.

Inspect for Quality: Perform quality checks to verify consistent stretch and secure construction.

Perform other job-related duties and work at other workstations or in other departments as assigned by management based on business needs, production demands, or training opportunities.
Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.

No prior experience necessary; training will be provided.

Manual dexterity and ability to use hand tools and equipment.

Strong attention to detail and pride in quality craftsmanship.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday weekends as needed. 40 hours a week plus overtime as needed.

Shift hours may vary between 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM depending on department assignment.
