Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Process Technician to support our injection molding operations. This role is responsible for setting up, optimizing, and troubleshooting molding processes to ensure high-quality production, efficiency, and minimal downtime. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with injection molding machines, scientific molding principles, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and start up injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment, and tooling
- Develop, document, and optimize molding processes using scientific molding techniques
- Monitor production runs to ensure part quality, cycle time, and process stability
- Troubleshoot process, tooling, and equipment issues to minimize downtime
- Perform mold changes, material changes, and color changes as needed
- Adjust machine parameters to maintain optimal performance
- Work closely with maintenance, quality, and production teams to resolve issues
- Conduct first-piece inspections and support quality initiatives
- Maintain accurate process documentation and update setup sheets
- Assist with continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred
- 2–5+ years of experience in injection molding processing
- Strong knowledge of injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment
- Understanding of scientific molding principles (RJG or equivalent is a plus)
- Experience with various resins (e.g., ABS, PP, PC, PET, etc.)
- Ability to read blueprints, process sheets, and technical documentation
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience with robots and automation systems
- Familiarity with mold maintenance and tooling function
- Knowledge of SPC and quality inspection tools
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Frequently standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
