Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, ensuring consistency and quality in every dish
- Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, slicers, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to strict food safety and sanitation standards
- Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients and suggesting improvements based on culinary best practices
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and safety standards in production
- Collaborate closely with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining quality control and presentation standards
Experience
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service environment is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of food industry safety standards, including food handling and sanitation practices
- Demonstrated culinary experience with knife skills, slicing techniques, and meal preparation
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment such as fryers, ovens, mixers, and slicers
- Experience in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is a plus, highlighting attention to dietary restrictions and menu adherence
- Excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with kitchen staff and serve customers efficiently
- Background in catering or food service serving roles adds valuable insight into large-scale meal production
