Assistant Project Manager – Join the Mint Painting Team
Location: Meridian, ID (Treasure Valley)
Job Type: Part-time with the opportunity to grow into Full-time
Pay: Starting at $20+/hour (based on experience)
About Mint Painting
At Mint Painting, we're more than just another painting company. We're building a team of people who care about doing great work, serving our customers well, and helping each other succeed.
We believe quality isn't just about the finished paint job—it's about professionalism, communication, attention to detail, and treating every home with care.
We're looking for someone who wants more than just a paycheck. If you're looking to build a career, make a real impact, and help build Mint Painting into something you're proud to be part of, we'd love to meet you.
About the Role
This role is an opportunity to make a real impact in a growing company where your leadership, organization, and problem-solving genuinely make a difference.
You'll spend your time visiting job sites, supporting crews, communicating with homeowners, checking quality, organizing materials, and helping keep projects on track. You'll also handle office tasks like work orders, paint documentation, project files, and job costing.
No two days are exactly the same, and that's part of what makes this position enjoyable.
Your job is simple: remove obstacles, support the team, and help create an exceptional experience for every customer.
For the right person, this position can naturally grow into a full-time Project Manager role.
Is This You?
- You take ownership instead of waiting to be told what to do.
- You naturally notice the little details others miss.
- You enjoy solving problems and helping people.
- You communicate well with both customers and coworkers.
- You stay organized while juggling multiple priorities.
- You want to continue learning and growing.
If you're reading this thinking, "That sounds like me," we'd love to meet you.
Who We're Looking For
Residential painting experience is important because you'll be supporting our crews and helping maintain our quality standards. You don't need to know everything, but you should understand the painting process well enough to communicate confidently with painters, spot potential issues, and occasionally jump in to help with touch-ups.
We're much more interested in finding someone with the right attitude than someone who already knows everything. If you're dependable, humble, eager to learn, and take pride in your work, we'll invest in helping you grow.
We can teach our systems. What we can't teach is someone who genuinely cares, takes ownership, and wants to help the team succeed.
What You'll Be Doing
- Visit active job sites to support crews and maintain Mint Painting's quality standards.
- Help ensure crews have the tools, materials, and information they need.
- Perform quality-control checks and prepare jobs for final walkthroughs.
- Deliver materials and maintain trailers, tools, and inventory.
- Communicate with homeowners throughout their project.
- Order materials and coordinate deliveries.
- Complete project documentation, including work orders, paint records, job photos, and job costing.
- Complete small touch-ups or painting tasks when needed.
- Jump in wherever you're needed to help the team and create an outstanding customer experience.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of residential painting experience.
- Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
- Comfortable driving a truck and trailer.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Comfortable using smartphones, Google software, and basic computer programs.
- Able to stay organized while managing multiple priorities.
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience coordinating people, schedules, or logistics.
- Experience in construction or another home service industry.
- Familiarity with project management or CRM software.
What to Expect
Most of your schedule will be during normal business hours, but this position does require some flexibility. Occasionally that means early mornings, late evenings, or part of a weekend to help keep projects on track or ensure our customers are taken care of.
We do our best to respect everyone's personal time, and those situations aren't the norm. When they do come up, we work together as a team because providing an exceptional customer experience sometimes requires a little extra flexibility.
Why Join Mint Painting?
- Competitive pay based on experience.
- Consistent work.
- Health, dental, vision, and paid time off available for employees working 32+ hours per week.
- A clear path toward becoming a full-time Project Manager.
- A supportive team that genuinely enjoys working together.
- A company that values people just as much as the work they produce.
