Duties
- Assist with asphalt paving operations, including spreading, leveling, and compaction to ensure smooth surfaces.
- Operate heavy machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and front loader trucks to move materials and prepare sites.
- Support construction crews by preparing work areas, loading materials, and maintaining equipment.
- Conduct utility locating to identify underground utilities before excavation or paving begins.
- Maintain safety protocols on-site by following procedures and wearing appropriate protective gear.
- Perform general site cleanup and organize tools and materials to keep the work area safe and efficient.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines while adhering to quality standards.
Experience
- Prior experience working on construction sites, especially in asphalt or road paving projects.
- Hands-on experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, and dump trucks.
- Knowledge of construction safety practices and utility locating techniques.
- Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment or similar heavy machinery is highly desirable.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work effectively within a team environment.
- Strong physical stamina to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions.
