Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles, including trucks and automobiles, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safe lifting practices.
- Plan efficient delivery routes using organizational skills and route driving knowledge to maximize productivity.
- Load and unload merchandise with proper heavy lifting techniques, ensuring items are secure during transportation.
- Engage with customers professionally, building positive relationships through clear communication and excellent customer service.
- Upsell additional products or services when appropriate, leveraging sales skills to enhance client satisfaction and company revenue.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and inventory records in compliance with company policies.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and perform basic vehicle maintenance checks to ensure safety and compliance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial driving or delivery roles, preferably with retail store experience or military background emphasizing discipline and reliability.
- Strong knowledge of pricing strategies, merchandising, and basic math for accurate transactions and route calculations.
- Excellent communication skills for client interaction, route coordination, and team collaboration.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices; physically fit to handle demanding tasks.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations governing commercial truck driving and transportation safety standards.
- Demonstrated organizational skills for managing multiple deliveries efficiently within tight schedules.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in commercial truck driving is highly desirable.
