Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts and manual handling techniques
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing patient conditions, and reporting changes according to care plans and HIPAA privacy standards
- Administer medications and document medication administration accurately following prescribed protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary needs and assist residents during meal times to promote independence and social engagement
- Support residents with memory care needs such as dementia or Alzheimer’s by implementing specialized care strategies and maintaining a safe environment
- Conduct patient observation to ensure safety, identify behavioral changes, and respond appropriately in emergency situations like first aid or CPR when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces through regular cleaning duties to ensure a hygienic environment that promotes health and comfort
- Collaborate with team members on developing and updating individualized care plans tailored to each resident’s needs
- Assist with transportation or community outings to foster social interaction and community integration
- Follow all safety protocols related to manual handling, heavy lifting, and infection control standards such as HIPAA regulations
Skills
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly valued
- Strong patient observation skills with the ability to recognize subtle changes in behavior or health status
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer's care, autism support, intellectual disabilities support, and geriatrics enhances your ability to provide specialized assistance
- Proficiency in medication administration, vital signs monitoring, CPR certification, first aid skills, and use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts
- Excellent communication skills for working effectively with residents, families, and team members within a collaborative environment
- Ability to perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and meal preparation to maintain a safe living space
- Experience with care plans development and documentation ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA standards
- Compassionate attitude combined with patience and resilience to support individuals with diverse needs across various settings

Pay: $17.50 - $23.00 per hour
