Job Summary
LA Fitness is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Personal Training Director to lead our Personal Training Department. This leadership role combines fitness expertise, sales leadership, team development, and member engagement. The ideal candidate is passionate about health and fitness, thrives in a sales-driven environment, and has a proven ability to recruit, train, and develop high-performing personal trainers.
As a Personal Training Director, you will be responsible for driving personal training revenue, managing trainer performance, conducting fitness consultations, and helping members achieve their health and fitness goals through customized training programs.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Revenue Generation
- Conduct fitness assessments and consultations with prospective clients.
- Present and sell personal training programs to new and existing members.
- Generate leads through club outreach, member engagement, referrals, and marketing initiatives.
- Meet and exceed monthly sales goals and department revenue targets.
- Track sales performance and maintain accurate records in company systems.
- Follow up with prospects to maximize membership and training package conversions.
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard personal trainers.
- Train and mentor staff on sales processes, client retention, and program delivery.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and coaching sessions.
- Ensure trainers maintain professional standards and provide exceptional customer service.
- Schedule and manage trainer workloads to maximize department productivity.
Member Experience
- Build strong relationships with members and clients.
- Ensure clients receive individualized fitness programs and ongoing support.
- Monitor client satisfaction and trainer effectiveness.
- Address member concerns and provide solutions to improve retention.
Operations
- Maintain department organization and compliance with company policies.
- Monitor personal training revenue, retention metrics, and sales reports.
- Collaborate with club management to drive overall club success.
- Support club events, promotions, and community outreach initiatives.
Qualifications
- Previous sales experience required (fitness industry sales preferred).
- Management or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to meet and exceed sales goals.
- Passion for health, fitness, and helping others succeed.
- CPR/AED certification (or ability to obtain).
- Personal Training Certification preferred but not required for qualified sales leaders.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
