About Us
At Makers Art Studio, we believe everyone is an artist! Our mission is to inspire creativity and help individuals create unique pieces of art—from fluid art canvases and resin tumblers to glass paintings, mosaics, and resin beach scenes. We are a vibrant, energetic community that offers a welcoming space for creators of all ages. Our studio is a lively hub for hands-on art classes, walk-in projects, and unforgettable private events like birthday parties, scout gatherings, date nights, and corporate team-building activities.
Job Overview
We are seeking a high-energy, driven, and customer-focused individual to join our team as an Art Instructor & Sales Associate. This isn't a desk job—we are looking for a fast learner who takes initiative to drive studio sales, welcome guests enthusiastically, and lead memorable art experiences.
In this role, you will wear two hats: an outgoing sales advocate who maximizes studio bookings and product retail, and an engaging instructor who guides guests through fun art projects. No prior professional teaching experience is required—if you have a passion for creativity, a strong drive to hit sales goals, and an eager-to-learn attitude, we will train you on the rest!
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Experience & Sales Focus
- Drive Revenue: Actively engage with walk-in customers to promote studio experiences, up-sell retail art products, and encourage future class or party bookings.
- Customer-First Hospitality: Deliver an exceptional, welcoming, and high-energy experience for every guest from the moment they walk through the door.
- Event Execution: Lead and host private events, birthday parties, and corporate team-building workshops, ensuring they run smoothly, on time, and full of energy.
- Take Initiative: Proactively maintain the studio’s visual appeal, restock retail shelves, organize inventory, and look for ways to streamline studio operations without needing a task list.
- Transactional Accuracy: Confidently operate the POS cash register, process payments, manage promotions, and handle returns or refunds.
Art Instruction
- Fast-Paced Learning: Quickly learn and master our signature art techniques (fluid art, resin art, glass painting, etc.) to confidently demonstrate them to guests.
- Guide and Inspire: Teach art classes and camp sessions to students of various ages and skill levels, ensuring everyone leaves proud of their creation.
Qualifications & Skills
- Driven & Self-Motivated: A go-getter mentality with a proven track record (or strong interest) in retail sales, up-selling, or customer-facing roles.
- Fast Learner: Ability to quickly pick up new art techniques, product knowledge, and studio software.
- Proactive Mindset: Someone who takes initiative during downtime to improve the studio, assist teammates, and engage guests.
- Strong Communication: Enthusiastic, comfortable speaking to groups, and capable of hosting lively parties.
- Flexible Scheduling & Event Availability: Must have flexible availability, specifically including weekends and evenings, to support our peak party and event hours.
- Education/Experience: Background in customer service, hospitality, or retail preferred. A degree or active pursuit of a degree in Fine Arts, Design, or a related creative field with a passion and sales drive are highly valued!
