Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing for medical services. This is a vital position that requires strong organizational skills and knowledge of medical coding and billing procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Review and entry of daily charges, modifiers and services
- Processing and posting of payments, research and follow up on unresolved payment issues and resubmit claims as necessary
- Communicate with providers through calls, e-mails and visits to review billing concerns and provide technical support/training
- Receive and initiate patient calls to resolve billing or payment concerns
- Research, review and communicate with insurance carriers regarding open accounts receivables
- Review, research and initiate collection procedures
- Review and verify patient information, medical records, and insurance eligibility
- Assign appropriate medical codes (ICD-10, DRG) to diagnoses and procedures
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve billing issues and discrepancies
- Maintain accurate records of all billing activities, including payments, adjustments, and collections
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate coding and billing practices
- Stay updated on changes in healthcare regulations, coding guidelines, and reimbursement policies
Requirements:
-AAPC Certification-preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical billing preferred
- Proven experience as a Medical Biller or similar role
- Proficient in medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10), and billing software, Medent experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical collection practices and insurance claim processing
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.85 - $22.00 per hour
