Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Finish Carpenter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing high-quality carpentry work, including the installation of trim, doors, moldings, and other finishing elements of residential projects. A strong attention to detail and craftsmanship is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Finish Carpentry:
- Install interior trim, including baseboards, doors, and window casings.
- Hang doors, install door hardware, and adjust to ensure proper fit and function.
- Install stair railings and balusters with precision.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood and other materials as required for finishing projects.
- Ensure all carpentry work meets high standards of quality, precision, and aesthetic appeal.
- Reading Plans:
- Interpret and work from drawings and design plans to complete finishing tasks.
- Collaborate with designers and project managers to ensure accuracy and adherence to project specifications.
- Tool Operation & Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain various hand and power tools, including saws, sanders, and nail guns, necessary for finish carpentry work.
- Ensure all tools are in good working condition and comply with safety standards.
- Material Selection & Preparation:
- Select appropriate materials for each job, ensuring consistency with the design and quality requirements.
- Measure and prepare materials accurately to ensure proper cuts and assembly.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, regulations, and best practices to maintain a safe work environment.
- Use protective equipment and ensure proper handling and disposal of materials.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with other tradespeople, such as cabinet installers, tile setters, and painters, to ensure smooth project progress.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, site supervisors, and coworkers to provide updates on project timelines and milestones.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a finish carpenter.
- Proficiency in the use of tools necessary for carpentry.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and technical drawings.
- Strong understanding of wood properties, construction techniques, and materials.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform heavy lifting, climbing, and working in various environments.
