American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Progressive Critical Care Unit night shift position requiring 2 years of recent PCU/ICU experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

Work in the Progressive Critical Care Unit of a hospital environment
-
Care for medically delicate and surgically complex patients including respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications
-
Average patient load is 3 high acuity patients

Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
-
13-week assignment
-
Every other weekend required
-
Rotating holiday coverage required
-
Epic EMR used
-
Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
-
BLS and ACLS certifications required from AHA or RQI
-
Minimum 2 years of recent experience in progressive/critical care or comparable ICU setting required
-
Competency in medical and surgical patient populations required
-
Experience with advanced hemodynamics and pressor titration protocols required
-
Familiarity with antihypertensive drips, sedative and narcan drips, thrombolytics, arterial lines, CVP, EVD, ortho traction, and infection prevention protocols required

Experience with HFNC, BiPap/CPAP, and oxygen-dependent patients required

Epic EMR experience required

Large-scale adult PCU or community hospital ICU experience preferred
-
No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months allowed

US Social Security Number required; Canadian SIN not accepted

Medical exemption only accepted for flu vaccine declination; personal or religious exemptions not accepted
-
Competency test required within 24 hours of consideration, with up to 2 attempts to pass
-
Provide advanced nursing care to high-acuity medical and surgical patients in a progressive critical care setting

Navy blue scrubs required as part of dress code

Local candidates residing within a 50-mile radius are not eligible if located in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties

48-hour work weeks may be available for interested candidates

No blocked scheduling permitted

More than 3 call-outs within a 13-week period may result in contract termination, with make-up shifts required within 6 weeks of the last call-out
