Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Intake Attorney to join our dynamic legal team. In this pivotal role, you will be the first point of contact for prospective clients, assessing their legal needs and guiding them through initial consultations. Your expertise in various areas of law will ensure clients receive accurate information and compassionate support, setting the foundation for successful case management.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough intake interviews with prospective clients to understand their legal issues across diverse practice areas such as estate planning, family law, employment law, personal injury, and more.
- Evaluate client eligibility and determine appropriate next steps based on detailed procedural and substantive legal knowledge.
- Gather comprehensive case information, including relevant documentation and factual details, to facilitate effective case assessment.
- Provide clear explanations of legal processes and potential outcomes while maintaining empathetic communication tailored to each client’s circumstances.
- Collaborate with attorneys and legal staff to prioritize cases and ensure seamless transition from intake to case development.
- Maintain accurate and organized case records within the firm’s legal case management system.
- Stay informed about current laws, regulations, and industry best practices across multiple legal disciplines to provide accurate guidance.
Requirements
- Licensure: Active Michigan Bar license in good standing.
- Experience: 0–2 years of legal experience; prior exposure to or a strong interest in family law is highly preferred.
- Skills: Exceptional verbal communication and active listening skills.
- Demeanor: High level of professionalism, empathy, and tact when handling highly sensitive and emotional family matters.
- Work Ethic: Outstanding organizational abilities with a focus on disciplined, detail-oriented work.
