The Audit Manager works closely with partners to help develop strategy, responsible for all stages of engagement, and identify and seize new business opportunities. This is an outstanding opportunity to develop professionally through exposure to all facets of planning, compliance, research, and individual and business consulting of our diverse and growing practice. This position has the flexibility to work in a hybrid setting with clients out of any of our office locations (La Crosse, Middleton, Mineral Point or Viroqua) and provides excellent opportunities for advancement.
Some of the primary responsibilities for this position include:

Manage complicated audit, review and compilation areas in accordance with firm and professional standards

Ensure engagement work is completed timely by staff, and within assigned time budgets

Manage department workflow and ensure staff meet billable hour expectations
-
Mentor, motivate and develop audit staff by providing learning opportunities, guidance and serving as a professional role model

Respond to firm associate requests in a timely and professional manner
-
Manage monthly client billings in a timely manner
-
Represent the firm and promote its image at a variety of events including, but not limited to: networking events, vendor conferences, client events and at college career fairs

Develop relationships with clients, through routine engagements, keeping in mind the need to bill additional services and to attract new business to the firm

Manages staff performance evaluations for department, and seeks feedback from others

Assist in recruitment efforts for staff

Promote a positive work environment that strives for continuous improvement

Play an active role in firm strategic and succession planning
-
Develop and suggest improvements to processes to improve efficiencies

Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with potential clients and sources for referrals

Follow regulations and professional ethics of the AICPA and the WICPA

Current CPA certification required

5+ years previous auditing experience

Excellent team skills, positive attitude, and high ethical standards

Excellent communication, organizational, and attention to detail skills

Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment

Commitment to quality and timely completion of work

Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and various tax and accounting software including CCH products, Creative Solutions products, and research tools

Prior experience training and mentoring entry level accountants and interns
