Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Entry-Level Warehouse Assistant to join our team. In this vital role, you will support daily warehouse operations by handling materials, operating equipment, and ensuring smooth inventory management. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in warehouse distribution, logistics, and heavy equipment operation.
Duties
- Assist with the loading and unloading of shipments using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders accurately for shipping using RF scanners and inventory management software
- Conduct inventory counts and maintain accurate stock levels within the warehouse management system
- Ensure proper stacking, stocking, and organization of products on shelves or pallets in compliance with safety regulations
- Support shipping and receiving processes by verifying incoming and outgoing shipments
- Follow safety protocols including OSHA standards and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during all tasks
- Operate heavy equipment such as reach trucks, cranes, or construction-related machinery when required
- Additional warehouse or operational duties requested.
Requirements
- Receive and unload incoming containers and freight shipments.
- Inspect products for damage and verify quantities.
- Organize inventory and stock warehouse locations.
- Pick, pack and prepare customer orders for shipment.
- Safely operate a forklift to move inventory throughout the warehouse.
- Hand-wrap and secure pallets to ensure products arrive safely.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate inventory.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe.
- Work closely with other team members to ensure customer orders are shipped accurately and on time.
- Warehouse or general operation duties
Qualifications:
- Forklift certification (or the ability to become certified immediately upon hire).
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Dependable with excellent attendance.
- Ability to follow directions while also working independently.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Basic math and organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to regularly lift heavy pottery and garden decor.
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and walk throughout the workday.
- Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment and work around moving machinery.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous warehouse, shipping/receiving, or forklift experience is a plus but not required.
- Experience using warehouse inventory systems is helpful.
- Experience handling fragile merchandise is a plus.
