We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Garage Door Technician / Dock Repairs and Maintenance to join our team. This role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining various types of garage doors, openers and dock levelers. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Responsibilities
- Install and repair commercial garage doors and openers.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks to ensure optimal functionality.
- Troubleshoot issues with garage door systems and provide effective solutions.
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine installation requirements.
- Utilize power tools and hand tools safely and effectively during installations and repairs.
- Perform heavy lifting as necessary when handling garage door components.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment at job sites.
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding services performed and any additional needs.
Experience
- Proven experience in frame carpentry or maintenance person services is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex systems.
- Familiarity with locksmithing is a plus for securing garage door systems.
- Experience using caulking materials for sealing installations is beneficial.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately for installation purposes.
- Previous experience working with power tools is essential for this role.
- Must be comfortable performing heavy lifting as required by the job.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
