Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Chief Maintenance Engineer to lead our maintenance operations across manufacturing facilities. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all maintenance activities to ensure optimal equipment performance, safety, and compliance. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance management programs to maximize equipment uptime and operational efficiency.
- Lead a team of maintenance technicians and supervisors, providing guidance, supervision, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performing maintenance department.
- Oversee the troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, low voltage, and high voltage systems using schematics, ohmmeters, and other diagnostic tools.
- Manage the use of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to schedule work orders, track asset history, and optimize maintenance workflows.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards related to industrial maintenance and facilities management.
- Coordinate projects involving upgrades or installations of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation systems to improve manufacturing processes.
- Monitor equipment performance metrics; analyze failure patterns; implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime.
- Collaborate with production teams to plan maintenance activities around manufacturing schedules without disrupting operations.
- Maintain detailed documentation of maintenance procedures, schematics, work orders, inspections, and incident reports.
- Lead emergency response efforts for equipment failures or safety incidents involving electrical or mechanical systems.
Experience
- Proven management experience leading large-scale maintenance teams within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Extensive hands-on electrical experience with low voltage and high voltage systems; familiarity with schematics and troubleshooting electrical circuits.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to industrial machinery maintenance; experience working with HVAC systems is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated expertise in using CMMS platforms for maintenance planning and asset management.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), industrial automation, project management principles, and facilities management best practices.
- Supervising experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting with a focus on safety compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in reading technical schematics; using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters for troubleshooting electrical issues.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams; fluent in English for effective communication across departments.
