Job Summary
We run a growing online collectible and resale business based in a residential setting in Spring Valley. We are looking for an independent, organized, and physically capable Assistant to help manage our inventory and sales; from unloading storage unit auction wins to packaging orders for shipping, and assisting with weekly live online sales.
This role requires someone who takes initiative, solves problems independently, and pays high attention to detail. Once given a task (e.g., "organize the garage for an incoming haul" or "condense shelves and prepare inventory for photos"), you will be expected to own it from start to finish without needing step-by-step supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Logistics & Manual Labor: Assist with loading purchases from storage/lien auctions into a truck or rental van, unloading cargo into our garage space; heavy lifting is expected up to 50 lbs.
- Sorting & Space Management: Categorize incoming items into trash, donations, swap meet/ Flee market inventory, and shop-ready collectibles. Keep garage space clean, organized, and prepared for incoming stock.
- Inventory & Prep: Clean, price, and shelf shop items. Organize swap meet goods into labeled, stacked totes. Maintain and update inventory tracksheets accurately.
- Media & Live Sales Support: Photograph new inventory previews. Work live sales on Friday afternoons; tracking active buyer claims, managing purchase logs, and keeping the stream organized.
- Order Fulfillment & Administration: Bubble wrap and securely package fragile collectibles. Calculate shipping costs, send PayPal invoices to buyers, and update sales spreadsheets accurately.
- Swap Meet Operations: Assist with loading trucks, setting up, and managing goods on-site during weekend swap meets.
Schedule & Availability Requirements
- Fridays (Mandatory): 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM in Spring Valley (Live sale support 3:00–6:00 PM, followed by truck loading from 6:00-7:00).
- Saturdays (Mandatory): 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Meet on-site at National City Swap Meet at 7:00 AM; return to Spring Valley around 11:00 AM; lunch break; order packaging from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM).
- Flexible On-Call Hours: Ability to assist on short notice for same-day storage auction wins during the week as schedule allows.
Qualifications & Physical Requirements
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and work comfortably in warm outdoor/garage conditions.
- Self-Motivated: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently without hands-on direction.
- Detail-Oriented: Precise record-keeping skills to ensure shipping labels, invoicing, and inventory tracking are error-free.
- Time Management Skills: proven track record of punctuality, working efficiently, and communicating.
- Reliable Transportation: Dependable personal transport to commute to Spring Valley and meet on-site at the National City Swap Meet on Saturday mornings.
- Basic Tech & Spreadsheet Proficiency: Comfortable using spreadsheets (Google Sheets/Excel), PayPal, and social media tools (Facebook Live).
- Trustworthy & Respectful: Comfortable working in a home-based business environment.
- Comfortable with Extended Travel/Drive Time: Willingness to spend extended periods riding as a passenger (up to 2 hours each way / 4 hours round-trip per haul). You will meet at our Spring Valley home base and ride with us to auction sites throughout the region. Drive time counts as paid working hours.
Preferred Experience (Bonus Points)
- Experience with vintage items, collectibles, or reselling platforms (eBay, Whatnot, Facebook Marketplace).
- Prior warehouse, packing/shipping, or swap meet/flea market experience.
- Conversational to Fluent In Spanish
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
