The Director of Operations is responsible for coordinating , supervising and directing all aspects of Harvard Club operations for F&B, Rooms , Athletics and Security departments, maintaining high levels of service and high quality of products, while maintaining revenues, payroll and all operating expenses budgets.
Duties
- Responsible for the general operation of staff functions relating to F&B, Rooms, Athletics, Security
- Clearly describe, assign and delegate responsibility and authority for the Department Managers
- Work with Department Managers to enhance member experience and value proposition
- Work Closely with related Committee Chairs/Members
- Maintain daily presence throughout the Club to gage member satisfaction
- Implement cost controls and ensure all related costs are in line with budgets
- Ensure preparation of required reports, as needed
- Monitor quality of products and equipment
- Ensure compliance with all local laws and regulations
- Ensure all service standards are met throughout the Club
- Continuously evaluate managers performance in accordance with HCNY standards.
- Understand all aspects of the payroll within all departments
- Be involved in and monitor departmental and club trainings
- Monitor all aspects of safety and security within the Clubhouse
- Ensure all aspects of health and sanitation guidelines are met
- Regularly review and evaluate the degree of member satisfaction
- Follow up timely on members comments and suggestions
- Monitor ongoing training programs to maintain and enhance standards of service.
- Make personal contact with members and assist them with any requests.
- Develop operating tools with the aide of department managers
- Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required.
Qualifications
- At least 15 years as Senior Manager position in Hotel or Club with more than $20 M operating revenues;
- Hospitality degree required
- Must be proficient in Windows, company approved spreadsheets and word processing.
- Strong knowledge of 4/5 star hotel service standards
- Knowledge of food and beverage preparation techniques, health department rules and regulations, liquor laws and regulations.
- Long hours sometimes required.
- Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all members and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
- Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
- Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
- Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.

- Maintain regular attendance in compliance with our Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the club.
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
- Comply with HCNY Club Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient club operations.
- Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
- Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
- Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
Pay: $140,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
