Artemis Life Medicine PLLC is a membership-based Direct Primary Care practice focused on providing personalized, relationship-centered healthcare with an emphasis on prevention, lifestyle medicine, and long-term wellness.
We intentionally care for a smaller number of patients so we can offer longer visits, direct physician access, proactive follow-up, and truly individualized care. The Role
This is not a traditional Medical Assistant position.
As the Patient Care Coordinator & Medical Assistant, you will work directly alongside the physician owner and serve as the primary support person for both patient care and clinic operations.
Because our team is currently just two people, clear communication, flexibility, accountability, and teamwork are essential. The ideal candidate enjoys taking ownership, solving problems, and creating an outstanding patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Experience & Communication
- Serve as a primary point of contact for patients via phone, text, email, and patient portal
- Respond to patient inquiries with professionalism, warmth, and efficiency
- Coordinate appointments and scheduling
- Welcome patients and facilitate a seamless office experience
- Proactively follow up on patient needs, referrals, and care plans
Clinical Support
- Room patients and assist during visits
- Obtain and document vital signs
- Perform EKGs, injections, phlebotomy, body composition analysis, and point-of-care testing within scope of practice
- Assist with procedures as needed
- Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies
Care Coordination
- Coordinate laboratory testing, imaging, referrals, and specialist communication
- Track patient follow-up needs and ensure completion
- Support medication management and prior authorizations when necessary
- Help ensure patients receive timely, coordinated care
Operations & Administration
- Support onboarding of new members
- Assist with workflow development and process improvement
- Maintain inventory and clinic organization
- Help create efficient systems that support excellent patient care
Qualifications
Required
- Medical Assistant certification or eligibility
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years of Medical Assistant experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfort with technology, electronic medical records, and digital communication tools
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
Preferred
- Experience in primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, concierge medicine, or Direct Primary Care
- Experience with phlebotomy
- Experience coordinating patient care and referrals
- Interest in preventive health and lifestyle medicine
