Job Description
The goal of teachers at Dahlia is to provide a warm, nurturing, safe and loving environment, independence is encouraged, and individuality respected. Children are immersed in the Spanish culture daily. This means that is spoken to at all times. Candidates should be comfortable interacting with families and have experience with creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.
Education Requirement:
High School or equivalent At least two years’ experience working with children.
Starting pay is based on years of experience and education.
Working hours are Monday -Friday. Hours of work will be determined after hiring is complete.

Schedule:
Responsibilities:
Protect the safety of all children in the classroom and directly supervise the children at all times.
Use positive phrasing in Spanish and English. Communicate frequently in Spanish with children throughout the day, naming objects, actions, using who what when where, why and open-ended questions.
Co-play/interact with children during play activities in Spanish both in doors and on the playground.
Treat each child with dignity and respect, recognizing the cultural and socio-economic diversity of the population.
Responsible for all mealtime activities of the group. Monitor children closely during meals.
Leave classroom at end of the day with clean tables and floor free of debris.
Share cleaning duties fairly with co-workers and maintain and clean safe and attractive classroom. Including in the cleaning of bathroom, toilet, and any toys
Must be able to lift children up to 35 pounds
Other duties as assigned by director or owners.
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Austin, TX 78721: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
- Must be bi-lingual, Spanish and English
License/Certification:
- Driver’s License Certification (Preferred)
- Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)
- Hours in Child Care
