Must be available 7 days a week and between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Must have weekend availability.
Position Summary: Responsible for the cleanliness and overall appearance of guest rooms and/or common areas. Maintains high standards of cleanliness in all areas and promotes safety and good guest relations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Wears appropriate uniform and name tag as prescribed by company policy. Takes care of all uniforms, equipment, and supplies issued.
- Thoroughly cleans all rooms assigned in preparation for guest arrival.
- Uses only the cleaning agents supplied.
- Ensures that when cleaning guest rooms, the room cart is positioned in front of the door.
- Vacuums and sweeps carpets and floors. Mops floors as needed.
- Dust, brushes, polishes, and vacuum furniture.
- Dust and cleans room decorations, appliances, and structural surfaces (wall fixtures, window sills, vents).
- Changes linens and makes beds. Checks for damaged linens.
- Cleans showers, tubs, sinks, and bathroom items. Removes used guest amenities and trash. Replenishes guest amenities and supplies as appropriate.
- Inspects rooms for safety hazards and for the operating condition of equipment and reporting same to maintenance.
- Reports lost and found articles, maintenance problems, or special problems, such as pets in the room to manager.
- Communicates with Housekeeping Department on the status of all cleaned rooms according to procedure; notifies Executive Housekeeping staff as each room is completed so rooms may be sold. Reports rooms that cannot be serviced by 2:00 p.m.
- Reports the following immediately to the Executive Housekeeper: No luggage in a stay over, sleep-out/Sleeper, unusual happenings, extra guest, needed repairs or unsafe conditions.
- Maintains storage rooms and stocks carts.
- Empties linen from housekeeping cart into laundry cart.
- Never communicates guest room numbers and/or names without following property procedures, and guests are not allowed in the room without a key.
- Responsible for all keys issued. Complies with the key policy as prescribed by the company.
- Records room status on work assignment sheets.
- Provides information to guests about hotel services, facilities and other amenities. Listens and responds to guests’ requests or complaints.
- Performs other duties as assigned by management.
