Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Used Car Technician to join our dynamic dealership team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining used vehicles to ensure they meet quality standards and customer expectations. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on used vehicles to identify mechanical, electrical, and cosmetic issues.
- Repair and maintain various vehicle systems including engines, transmissions, suspensions, brakes, electrical systems, and diesel engines.
- Conduct ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibrations and ensure proper functioning of safety features.
- Use schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electronic problems efficiently.
- Replace or repair components such as shocks & struts, tires, air brakes, powertrain parts, and other essential mechanical systems.
- Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, wheel alignments, tire rotations, and vehicle inspections.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and automotive diagnostic software to complete repairs accurately.
- Maintain detailed service records in accordance with dealership procedures while providing excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly to clients.
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications for quality assurance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a dealership technician or in an automotive repair environment with a focus on used vehicles.
- Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive systems including powertrain, suspension, brakes, electrical systems, and diesel engines.
- Familiarity with automotive schematics, diagnostics tools, ADAS calibration procedures, and heavy equipment mechanics is highly desirable.
- Experience repairing transmissions and performing automotive electrical system diagnostics.
- Ability to work efficiently using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive maintenance tools.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
- Knowledge of GM vehicles or similar makes is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
- Valid technician certification(s) or relevant ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications preferred.
