This position is located at our North Central Mounds View location. Mounds View is part of the Twin Cities gateway, which sits at the juncture of I-35W and Mounds View Boulevard. The city is surrounded by Blaine, Arden Hills, New Brighton, Fridley, and Spring Lake Park. Mounds View is home to Silver View Park and the Mounds View Historical Society Museum.
Position Description:
As the Truck Equipment Lead Technician, you will play a crucial role in leading, inspiring, and holding the team accountable while delivering a superior customer service experience in line with the Scipi values. This is a working position that helps the Truck Equipment Team achieve common goals and objectives for the benefit of the company. This person will help us achieve optimum productivity and efficiency while keeping the shop operating safely to industry standards.
This position has an hourly wage range of $37 - $47 per hour.
This position is eligible for the Lead Technician incentive.
Essential Functions
- Team Leadership & Support: support truck equipment team by providing guidance, work direction, and training as well as assistance with hiring and onboarding of new team members
- Vehicle Service & Inspection: perform truck equipment repairs, installations, DOT inspections, and service work as well as conduct quality diagnostics, road testing, and final quality control inspections to ensure vehicle functionality and compliance before release
- Scheduling & Workflow Coordination: collaboration with the service coordinator on weekly scheduling, assist with job assignments and maintain flexibility to work overtime during peak seasons
- Shop Standards & Compliance: adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety standards as well as maintaining a clean and orderly shop environment and ensuring all company tools are in proper working condition

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Strong mechanical, technical, and fabrication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization
Required Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in truck upfitting, fabrication, or related automotive service
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- HS Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Experience:
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Welding and/or fabrication experience
- Forklift experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and dealership scheduling systems
