We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our team on a PRN basis. This position is ideal for a provider looking for flexible scheduling while helping cover vacations, provider absences, and periods of increased patient demand.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients across the lifespan.
- Perform acute, chronic, and preventive care visits.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies.
- Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations.
- Document patient encounters accurately within the Athenahealth EMR.
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients regarding treatment plans and preventive health.
- Maintain quality documentation and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist with same-day appointments and walk-in acute care when needed.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current NP or PA license in the State of Tennessee
- DEA registration
- Current BLS certification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with the healthcare team
Preferred:
- Family Medicine or Primary Care experience
- Experience with Athenahealth EMR
- Comfortable treating patients of all ages
- Experience with minor office procedures
Schedule
- PRN, as needed
- No nights
- No major holidays
- Opportunities for additional shifts as the practice continues to grow
