We are seeking a dynamic and friendly Front Desk Associate to be the welcoming face of the trolley
Duties
- Process admission, gift shop and membership sales
- Read story during story-time trolley
- Answering visitor questions and phone calls
- Stock shelves
- Light cleaning
- Turn on/ off the exhibits as well as opening and closing the museum
- Preparing the end of the day reports
- Performing basic administrative functions
- Arming/ Disarming the security system
- Receptionist and clerical duties
- Other tasks as necessary to the organization
Skills
- Experience as a front desk attendant or equivalent position
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting
- Knowledge of front desk procedures, phone etiquette, and multi-line phone systems essential for smooth communication flow
- Strong problem solving skills
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
Expectations
- Be courteous to the public at all times
- Greet guests entering the museum
- Keep your supervisor informed of problems as they develop
- Show respect for others at all times
- Refrain from causal visits to employees while they're working, and refrain from casual visitors while you are working
- Accept and be responsive to feedback from your supervisors
- Inform visitors of activities going on, layout of the museum, and membership benefits
- Use good judgement in decision making regarding operating procedures
- Arrive at work at your scheduled time
- Refrain from writing or positing anything in the social media environment that could compromise CT Trolley Museum's reputation. This includes discriminatory remarks, harassment, threats of violence or similar content.
