Job Summary
MediExcel Health Plan (www.mediexcel.com) is a fast-growing, binational HMO licensed by the California Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC). MediExcel offers comprehensive health benefit plans to employers throughout San Diego and Imperial Counties, providing high-quality, affordable healthcare through its innovative cross-border network.
The Marketing Specialist supports MediExcel's growth strategy by executing integrated marketing initiatives that strengthen brand awareness, generate sales opportunities, and enhance member engagement. This role combines traditional and digital marketing responsibilities, including content creation, social media management, advertising, events, marketing communications, and community outreach.
Working closely with sales and executive leadership, the Marketing Specialist will help develop compelling campaigns, support broker and employer marketing efforts, coordinate promotional activities, and ensure consistent brand messaging across all channels.
This position is ideal for a creative, organized, and results-oriented marketing professional who enjoys managing diverse projects while delivering measurable business results.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns that support sales, member acquisition, retention, and brand awareness.
Create engaging content for social media, websites, email campaigns, brochures, presentations, newsletters, and other marketing materials.
Plan and manage organic and paid social media campaigns across platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, and emerging channels.
Develop content calendars, graphics, videos, photography, and written communications that reinforce the MediExcel brand.
Coordinate digital advertising campaigns, including Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn, and display advertising.
Monitor campaign performance and provide recommendations using marketing analytics and engagement metrics.
Support broker marketing initiatives by creating sales collateral, presentations, promotional materials, and campaign support.
Assist in planning and executing corporate events, broker meetings, trade shows, community outreach programs, sponsorships, and health fairs.
Coordinate marketing projects with internal departments, outside vendors, agencies, printers, and community partners.
Maintain brand standards and ensure consistency across all marketing communications.
Support website content updates, email marketing, and other digital communications.
Research market trends, competitor activity, and emerging marketing opportunities to improve campaign effectiveness.
Assist with public relations activities, media opportunities, testimonials, photography, and corporate communications as assigned.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience
3–4 years of experience in marketing, communications, or a related field.
Experience developing integrated marketing campaigns across both digital and traditional channels.
Experience managing social media platforms and paid digital advertising.
Experience supporting events, promotions, community outreach, or business development initiatives is preferred.
Healthcare or B2B marketing experience is a plus.
Qualifications
Fluent in English and Spanish (spoken and written).
Excellent copywriting, editing, and storytelling skills.
Strong graphic design and content creation abilities using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools.
Experience with Meta Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Google Ads, and Google Analytics.
Familiarity with email marketing platforms, CRM systems, and social media scheduling tools.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Analytical mindset with experience measuring campaign performance and ROI.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
Self-motivated, creative, detail-oriented, and collaborative.
Ability to occasionally work evenings or weekends to support community events and corporate functions.
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
