We are seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant II to join our busy OB/GYN practice. The ideal candidate will have recent OB/GYN experience, strong clinical skills, and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care. This role supports providers in delivering high-quality healthcare services while ensuring a positive patient experience.
Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties
- Perform patient rooming and intake procedures, including collecting vital signs, height, weight, and visit-related information.
- Gather and document patient medical and social histories.
- Review and update medication lists, allergies, and preferred pharmacy information.
- Assist providers during examinations, treatments, and procedures.
- Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy.
- Administer medications under provider direction.
- Perform clinical tests such as EKGs and vision screenings.
- Review patient records for preventive care and routine health screening needs.
- Provide patients with after-visit instructions, educational materials, and follow-up care information.
- Prepare, clean, stock, and maintain exam and treatment rooms.
- Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical instruments and equipment.
Administrative Duties
- Assist with patient registration, check-in/check-out, appointment scheduling, referrals, and coordination of tests and treatments.
- Answer clinic phone calls and assist with electronic messages and patient inquiries.
- Support providers and nursing staff during emergency situations.
Medical Assistant II Responsibilities
- Precept and mentor new Medical Assistants and externs.
- Train staff on clinic procedures and best practices.
- Assist providers in maintaining preventive health measures for patient panels.
- Support clinic quality and safety initiatives.
- Manage clinic supply inventory and ordering.
- Perform required audits and maintain registries as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant Certification through one of the following:
- AAMA
- AMT
- NHA (CCMA)
- NAHP (NRCMA)
- NCCT (NCMA)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
- Minimum of 1 year of full-time experience as a Certified Medical Assistant.
- Recent OB/GYN experience is required.
Pay: $21.00 - $22.00 per hour
