We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with school-aged children who are receiving special education services. Your primary focus will be to support the development of essential skills through applied behavior analysis techniques while ensuring a safe, supportive, and positive learning environment. You may work with an individual student, a group of students, or an entire classroom. You will implement individualized education plans under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Key Responsibilities
- Behavioral Support: Implement behavior intervention plans and individualized education plans (IEPs) as directed by the supervising BCBA.
- Data Collection & Reporting: Collect and accurately record data on student progress and behaviors during sessions.
- Collaboration & Training: Collaborate with the supervising BCBA, teachers, staff, and families to assess student needs and modify treatment approaches. You will also provide training to school staff and caregivers on behavioral strategies and techniques.
- Student Support: Provide direct support with empathy and respect, fostering a positive experience for students.
- Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations and school policies in all interactions.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training to enhance skills in behavioral therapy and autism support.
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience: Previous experience working with children, particularly those with autism or developmental disabilities, is required.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of applied behavior analysis (ABA) principles and techniques. Familiarity with special education terminology, including IEP, FBA, and BIP is a plus.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills for collaborating with and training school staff, families, and team members about treatment strategies.
- Data Literacy: Proficient in data collection methods for tracking and reporting on student progress.
- Confidentiality: A strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to maintain student confidentiality.
