Title of Position: Community Outreach Advocate
Work schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Primary Responsibilities:
- Facilitate and organize presentations to educate possible victims of crime, to include schools, youth organizations, and other venues to reach underserved populations
- Conduct presentations at schools and other venues to educate victims of crime
- Manage mandated reporting training requests and conduct the training for agency partners, organizations, companies and individual groups.
- Participate with other programs to organize child abuse prevention month activities and the annual back to school donation drive.
- Community networking to locate organizations, entities, businesses and individuals to collaborate with for training/education and opportunities for donations/resources.
- Responsible for planning, coordinating and executing training, education and community engagement that is held outside of the school year.
- Responsible for presenting training on various programs to include but not limited to Child Safety Matters, Teen Safety Matters, After school Safety, Digital Safety, Bullying Prevention and Parenting.
- Coordinate with internal and external partner’s on training relevant to a multitude of preventive efforts.
Qualifications:
- Level II Background check,-will be subject to employment clearance
- Bachelor level education in Social Work, Child Psychology, Counseling or related field
- 3 years of experience in child and family services and as a trainer/educator is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working in the community is necessary, preferably in a community organization or similar role
- Must be flexible, as some work on weekends and evenings may be necessary
- Must have current, valid Driver’s license, current automobile insurance
Employment Status: Full Time.
