Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Production & Machine Shop Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting various machine tools and equipment within our machine shop environment. Your expertise will ensure precision manufacturing processes, uphold quality standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Duties
- Operate machines such as lathes and milling machines, ensuring accurate production according to technical drawings and specifications
- Perform precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments to verify part dimensions
- Conduct routine maintenance on machine tools, troubleshoot issues promptly, and perform repairs or adjustments to minimize downtime
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and tooling to assemble components or modify parts in accordance with specifications
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying waste reduction opportunities and optimizing machining processes for efficiency
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in manufacturing environments involving plastics injection molding or metal machining
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines accurately
- Knowledge of welding techniques and assembly processes for mechanical components
- Capable of operating forklifts safely to handle raw materials or finished products
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficiency and waste reduction in production workflows
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting machine issues
