Job Summary:
Food Safety - Quality Assurance Technicians are responsible for guaranteeing the quality and food safety of our products and services. Level 1 Perform basic food safety and quality control activities. Technicians are able to train others in those activities
General Description Responsibilities:
- Verify that we are producing a SAFE and HIGH-QUALITY product
- Verify employees follow all plant GMP's.
- Verify that product specifications and food safety standards are being followed at all times.
- Complete all necessary daily paperwork.
- Communicate with Quality Director, Food Safety Manager and/or QA supervisor on how line is running, and every time there are deviations.
- Communicate with line operators and supervisors on quality and food safety standards during production.
- Perform any laboratory work or product inspections required
- Shipping/Receiving inspections and releases. This includes raw material inspection, dry goods, trailer inspections and returns.
- Conduct Daily SSOP, HACCP, GMP, and SQF monitoring activities
- Stop production or place product on hold when the department is not meeting quality or food safety requirements
- This is a Backup to this position is other QA techs
- Pull samples customer specifications.
- Conduct Temperature and Equipment Calibrations
- Perform titrations for ozone, PAA, Quat, Chlorine or other sanitizers
- Perform product and label inspections
- Able to complete quality or food safety investigations and complete appropriate documentation
- Able to take and perform Corrective Action and Preventative Measure, Communication, Documentation and Verification of the CAPA
- Conduct and perform aseptic techniques for carcasses, products or environmental swabbing
- Conduct and document product and ambient temperature monitoring activities
- Perform pre-op and operational equipment inspections
- Perform sanitizer or sterilizer verification

Duties Estimated Time:
90% time on production floor
10% office, computer, and lab activities
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work in variable room temperatures 10 F - 100 F.
Occasionally may need lift up to 40 lbs, support can be provided as needed.

1st shift and 3rd shift are available
