Indoor Cannabis Store by Indoor Treez
Position Summary
Budtenders are the front-line ambassadors of Indoor Treez. This role is responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience while ensuring all transactions, product recommendations, and daily operations comply with New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission (NJ CRC) regulations. Budtenders are expected to be knowledgeable, professional, energetic, and customer-focused at all times.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Experience
- Greet all customers warmly and create a welcoming, high-energy environment
- Educate customers on cannabis products including flower, pre-rolls, vapes, edibles, concentrates, and accessories
- Make personalized product recommendations based on customer preferences, tolerance, and desired effects
- Promote current deals, loyalty programs, and in-store promotions
- Ensure customers understand dosage, safe use, and legal purchasing limits
Sales & POS Operations
- Accurately process transactions using the POS system (Treez)
- Verify customer age and identification in compliance with NJ CRC regulations
- Handle cash, debit transactions, and register balancing accurately
- Maintain upselling and cross-selling standards to increase basket size
Compliance & Safety
- Follow all New Jersey cannabis laws and internal compliance procedures
- Ensure product handling, labeling, and storage meet regulatory standards
- Report any compliance concerns, discrepancies, or suspicious activity to management immediately
Inventory & Store Maintenance
- Assist with restocking, merchandising, and maintaining product displays
- Rotate product to prioritize expiring inventory when instructed
- Maintain cleanliness of sales floor, registers, and work areas
- Assist with receiving and checking inventory as directed by management
Team & Professional Standards
- Maintain punctuality, reliability, and open communication with management
- Uphold GW Leaf’s brand standards, dress code, and customer service expectations
- Participate in vendor trainings, product education, and staff meetings
- Support teammates during busy periods to ensure smooth store operations
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Ability to obtain and maintain all NJ CRC required approvals
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer-service or retail experience preferred (cannabis experience a plus)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Open availability including weekends, evenings, and holidays

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
