Position Summary
- Responsible for scheduling patients for surgical procedures at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale and the Clinic Ambulatory Surgical Center within guidelines set forth by each surgeon and schedule and coordinate all appointments necessary.
- Responsible for assisting with professional nursing care for SIH patients.
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent
Licenses and Certification
- Completion of Illinois approved CNA training program and passed a written competency test or has successfully completed a nursing arts course (E.g., Basis in Nursing, Fundamentals in Nursing, Nursing 101, etc)
- BLS
Experience and Skills
Role Specific Responsibilities
- Assists nursing staff with patient care activities such as but not limited to obtaining patients vital signs, intake and output, bathing, feeding, toileting etc.
- Assists in medical emergencies, including CPR
- Complete, accurate and timely documentation in patient medical record
- Timely communication of changes in patient condition to the Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse
- Timely completion of delegated tasks from Registered Nurse
- Serve as an advocate for the patient by communicating and collaborating with other health service personnel
- Timely completion of required education and competencies
- Cross train to telemetry tech if applicable to department needs
- Scheduling Surgical Procedures with Appropriate Units
- Coordinating Providers Clinic and OR Schedules
- Coordinating with Patients to Ensure Proper Scheduling
- Providing Education to Patients Regarding Their Procedure
- Documenting and completing appropriate and pertinent Information in a Standardized Manner
- All other duties as required
