Our client, an established telecommunications technology company, is seeking a Linux Application Support Engineer to support a mission-critical enterprise communication platform. This role focuses on troubleshooting production application issues across Linux environments, software applications, and customer networks.
This is a hands-on technical role for someone who enjoys analyzing logs, investigating system behavior, and working through complex problems with engineering teams and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot application issues within Linux-based telecommunications platforms
- Analyze logs, processes, services, and system behavior to identify root causes
- Use Linux command-line tools and diagnostic utilities for troubleshooting
- Work with customers and engineering teams to resolve production issues
- Analyze SIP, RTP, TCP/IP, and network-related issues
- Review packet captures using tools such as Wireshark and tcpdump
- Support software updates, patches, and production changes
- Create technical documentation and troubleshooting procedures
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise applications or production systems
- Strong Linux troubleshooting experience (Red Hat, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar)
- Experience troubleshooting SIP/VoIP technologies
- Understanding of TCP/IP networking and DNS
- Experience analyzing logs and performing root cause analysis
- Familiarity with Wireshark, tcpdump, or similar tools
- Strong communication skills and customer-facing experience
Preferred:
- Telecommunications, VoIP, or enterprise communications experience
- Experience with SIP-based applications, RTP, SBCs, Diameter, VMware, or scripting (Bash)
