Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Dump Truck Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this role, you will operate heavy-duty dump trucks to transport and deliver construction materials, debris, and other freight safely and efficiently across various job sites and routes. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, adherence to safety regulations, and ability to handle different types of loads will ensure smooth operations and timely deliveries. Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks, including tractor-trailers, roll-off trucks, and flatbeds, on over-the-road (OTR) routes and local delivery routes.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate manual handling techniques or forklift equipment when necessary.
- Follow all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) guidelines, and hazardous materials regulations to ensure compliance during transportation.
- Use GPS navigation systems to plan efficient routes, monitor delivery progress, and adapt to changing traffic conditions.
- Transport a variety of cargo including freight, hazardous materials, dangerous goods, or specialized loads such as refrigerated trailers or tanker units.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, inspections, and vehicle maintenance in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to identify potential issues and ensure safety standards are met.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving with tractor-trailers or dump trucks.
- Knowledge of FMCSA regulations, DOT rules, hazardous materials handling, and safety procedures for dangerous goods.
- Proficiency with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time traffic updates.
- Ability to load & unload cargo efficiently using manual handling techniques or forklift operation when applicable.
- Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling, truck loading/unloading processes, and freight management.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission preferred.
- Ability to adhere strictly to safety protocols while managing hazardous or sensitive loads such as refrigerated trailers or tanker units.
