Take your nursing leadership career to the next level in beautiful San Luis Obispo, CA! We’re seeking an experienced and confident RN Nurse Lead to join a collaborative healthcare team for a 13-week contract assignment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a strong clinical leader who can support frontline nursing staff, coordinate patient care, promote quality and safety, and serve as a reliable resource for the healthcare team.
Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing staff during assigned shifts.
Coordinate and oversee daily patient care activities.
Serve as a resource and mentor to RNs and other clinical staff.
Assist with patient assignments and ensure appropriate staffing and workflow.
Monitor patient care to ensure compliance with facility policies and clinical standards.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing leadership, and interdisciplinary teams.
Assist with managing complex or high-acuity patient situations.
Promote effective communication among patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Support staff with clinical decision-making and escalation of patient concerns.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation.
Promote patient safety, quality improvement, and infection-control practices.
Assist with orientation, education, and training of nursing staff as needed.
Respond appropriately to emergencies and changing patient-care priorities.

RN Nurse Lead/Clinical Leadership opportunity

Active California RN License – required
Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience – required
Previous Nurse Lead, Charge Nurse, or nursing leadership experience strongly preferred
Current BLS certification – required
ACLS certification – preferred/required based on facility requirements
Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
Demonstrated experience with staff coordination, delegation, and patient assignments
Ability to provide clinical guidance and support to nursing staff
Strong communication, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills
Experience working in a hospital/acute-care setting preferred
