Join our dynamic team as a Custodian/Maintenance Technician and play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment. You will be responsible for performing a variety of custodial and maintenance tasks that keep our school inviting, hygienic, and operationally efficient. Duties
- Perform daily cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, and restroom sanitation to uphold high standards of cleanliness.
- Conduct detailed floor care activities such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet cleaning to maintain pristine surfaces.
- Carry out general facilities maintenance tasks including minor repairs, painting, and troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are properly maintained, stored safely, and used efficiently.
- Support cleaning projects when necessary, including high-volume cleaning tasks in large or specialized areas.
- Assist with porter duties such as moving furniture or equipment to support school needs.
- Follow safety protocols diligently during all custodial and maintenance activities to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with health standards.
Skills
- Proven experience in custodial work or janitorial services within school setting.
- Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, floor care procedures, and industrial cleaning methods.
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as buffers, floor scrubbers, and carpet extractors confidently.
- Skilled in basic maintenance tasks including minor repairs and painting; familiarity with facilities maintenance is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to identifying areas needing upkeep or repair.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Physical stamina to perform manual tasks involving lifting, bending, reaching, and standing for extended periods.
