Ultra EMS is seeking an experienced Ambulance Remount Consultant to assist in developing and implementing a comprehensive ambulance remount program. This consultant will serve as a subject matter expert and provide a "train-the-trainer" approach, equipping our internal team with the knowledge, processes, and best practices necessary to successfully manage and perform ambulance remount projects.
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience remounting ambulances and a proven ability to teach, mentor, and develop others. This position can be performed remotely, with occasional travel for on-site training, assessments, and program development activities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a standardized ambulance remount training program.
- Conduct train-the-trainer sessions for Ultra EMS personnel.
- Provide guidance on remount planning, project management, and execution.
- Establish best practices, quality standards, and documentation processes.
- Assist in creating standard operating procedures (SOPs) for remount projects.
- Train staff on chassis replacement, module transfer, electrical systems, HVAC systems, safety considerations, and final inspections.
- Provide recommendations for tooling, equipment, workspace layout, and inventory management.
- Assist with vendor selection and coordination as needed.
- Review completed remount projects and provide quality assurance feedback.
- Serve as an ongoing technical resource during program implementation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience performing ambulance remounts.
- Demonstrated expertise with Type I, Type II, and/or Type III ambulance remounts.
- Strong understanding of ambulance electrical systems, HVAC systems, cabinetry, patient compartment systems, and vehicle integration.
- Experience developing training programs and teaching technical personnel.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and remotely.
- Ability to travel periodically for on-site training and consulting engagements.
Preferred Qualifications
- 10+ years of ambulance remount experience.
- Experience working with major ambulance manufacturers such as Frazer, Wheeled Coach, AEV, Horton Emergency Vehicles, or Braun Ambulances.
- EVT certification or equivalent technical certifications.
- Experience establishing or managing fleet remount programs.
- Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and industry safety standards.
Pay: $50.00 - $75.00 per hour
