Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Receptionist to join our team. This role is essential in providing exceptional customer service and support to pet owners while ensuring the smooth operation of our veterinary practice. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animals, possess strong communication and computer skills, and be familiar with veterinary terminology and procedures.
Duties
- Greet clients and their pets upon arrival, providing a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries regarding services, pet care, and appointment availability.
- Maintain accurate patient records, including medical history and treatment plans.
- Process payments and manage billing inquiries with attention to detail.
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with administrative tasks as needed.
- Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
- Educate clients on proper animal care practices, including vaccination schedules and preventive health measures.
Skills
- Proficient understanding of veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with staff and clients.
- Knowledge of animal husbandry practices to provide accurate information regarding pet care.
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques to maintain a clean environment in the clinic.
- Experience in animal handling, ensuring the safety and comfort of pets during visits.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, staff, and pets alike.
- Basic understanding of animal anatomy to assist in discussions about health concerns or treatments.
- Experience working in a kennel or laboratory setting is a plus but not required.
