POSITION SUMMARY:
Operate lift trucks and other material handling devices to move materials and finished goods
within and between departments and onto trucks.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Level 1
-
Be able to pick orders for shipping from a Sales Order.

Must be able to package material for shipping in accordance with customer’s requirements and applicable procedures.

Understand the Move Ticket, Material I.D. and Routing systems to ensure proper part identification and delivery of parts within and between departments.

Perform Forklift Inspection Bi-weekly per applicable safety procedures.
-
Know the safety rules that apply to material handling and stacking.
-
Skid building as required.
-
Required to train other employees.
-
Adhere to basic housekeeping of work area; i.e., wood, scrap metal, garbage, liquid spills.

Comply with all health and safety procedures.
-
Other duties as assigned by Supervisor or Shipping Coordinator.
Level 2
-
Perform Warehouseman Level 1 duties and responsibilities.
-
Coordinate pickup schedule of metal scrap dumpsters. Includes steel, aluminum, stainless, slug tuggers & blue portable bins.
-
Coordinate pickup/disposal of scrap wood/scrap pallets with purchasing team.
-
Receive, count, verify, and tag all inbound material in the appropriate ERP system in a timely manner.
-
Deliver all received items not raw material related to the appropriate parties.

Stage, store, organize and maintain all raw coils for production use.

Scan, save in the shared drive and file paperwork for received coils.
-
Minimum of three (3) years’ warehouseman experience.
-
Minimum of three (3) years’ applicable ERP system experience or equivalent.

Validating accuracy of packed orders to ensure the quality of packaging, & quantities.

Validating that garbage is staged onto the Shipping dock for pickup on its scheduled days.
-
Update Shipping/Production staff when consumable supplies run low; i.e., banding.
REQUIRED SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE:

Verbal and written communication in English.
-
Read blueprints.
-
Certified Forklift Driver (Sit down & Stand up).
-
Knowledge of shipping procedures.

Experience in the following:
-
Skidding and banding material
-
Calculating shipment weights
-
Ability to accurately piece and weigh count
-
Knowledge of company policies, procedures, shop and safety rules.
-
Understanding of ISO 9001:2015.
-
Basic understanding of inspection equipment as it pertains to material identification.
-
As required, ability to perform repetitive bending, kneeling, and lift cumbersome and or heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
