Position Overview
The Delivery Driver & Event Execution Team Member plays a critical role in ensuring our client events and displays are delivered safely, executed seamlessly, and returned without damage. This hands-on position is primarily responsible for operating delivery vehicles, managing inventory loading/unloading, and collaborating with the warehouse and execution teams to set up and tear down event installations.
The ideal candidate is a reliable, professional driver who takes pride in safe transit, timely deliveries, and providing excellent customer-facing service on event sites.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Driving & Vehicle Operations (Primary Focus)
- Safe operation of company or rental delivery vehicles (e.g., cargo vans, box trucks) to and from event venues, vendors, and warehouse locations within the regional area.
- Complete pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, report maintenance needs immediately, and ensure proper fuel levels.
- Pick up and return rental vehicles as needed, adhering to all rental company policies and requirements.
- Maintain a clean driving record and strictly adhere to all traffic laws and transport safety regulations.
Logistics, Loading & Unloading
- Carefully load, secure, and transport event items, decor, equipment, and packages using straps, blankets, and cargo controls to prevent damage during transit.
- Review packing lists and manifest sheets against loaded inventory to ensure 100% accuracy before departing the warehouse.
- Unload equipment at event sites efficiently, treating high-value and delicate items with care.
On-Site Event Execution & Breakdown
- Assist the event team with on-site staging, setup, placement, and installation of event displays according to client specifications and layout plans.
- Return to event venues post-event to carefully package, wrap, break down, and reload displays and inventory.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment at client sites during setup and strike.
Client & Team Interaction
- Act as a professional representative of the company when interacting with venue managers, clients, and on-site vendors.
- Communicate effectively with the owner and warehouse management regarding delays, venue access challenges, or inventory issues.
Qualifications & Requirements
Driving Requirements
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean, acceptable driving record (MVR background check required).
- Comfort and confidence driving larger vehicles (such as 16ft–26ft box trucks or cargo vans) in urban and suburban environments.
- Reliable personal transportation to and from the primary warehouse location.
Experience & Core Competencies
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in commercial driving, delivery operations, warehouse logistics, or event setup preferred.
- Strong professional communication skills with an emphasis on customer service.
- Proven ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal direct supervision.
- Strong problem-solving ability and composure under time-sensitive event deadlines.
Physical Demands & Working Conditions
- Physical Capability: Must be able to regularly lift, push, pull, and carry items weighing 50+ lbs. continuously throughout shifts.
- Stamina: Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, lift, and walk for extended periods (8+ hours).
- Work Schedule: Must offer schedule flexibility, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays based on event schedules.
- Travel: Up to 75% local/regional travel within the service area (operating delivery vehicles).
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
