The State Recruiting Office will refer all inquiries regarding this exempt position to the Department of Business, Economic Development & Tourism, Office of Planning and Sustainable Development.
A. Knowledge:
Rules, regulations, policies, procedures, or other relative guidelines. Supervisory principles and practices.
B. Skills/Abilities:
Carry-out the functions and responsibilities of the Special Program; read and comprehend laws, rules, and regulations; analyze facts and issues; provide recommendations to Project team; collaboratively work towards solutions to complex and sensitive problems/situations related to the ORMP; work effectively and cooperatively with colleagues, agency representatives, and partners.
Must thrive in a highly dynamic environment and adapt to a broad set of assignments with variable timelines.
Excellent time management and organizational skills to provide support to project and initiatives often running concurrently.
Proven ability to recognize, analyze, and balance competing interests for
Must have the ability to deal satisfactorily with workers and operating personnel, recognize operational problems in the Special Program, develop practical solutions, and assume responsibility in management of the Special Program.
C. Education:
Graduation from an accredited 4-year college or university with a bachelor’s degree.
D. Experience:
Specialized Experience: One and one-half (1 ½) years of progressively responsible work experience in a related field.
Must have administrative aptitude, which is success in regular or special assignments or projects which involve administrative problems, e.g., in planning, organizing, promoting, and directing a program that provides staff advice and assistance; interest in management demonstrated by the performance of work assignments in a manner which clearly indicates awareness of managerial problems and the ability to solve them; completion of management training or education courses accompanied by application of learned principles to work assignments; management's observation and evaluation of the applicant's leadership and managerial capabilities; success in trial assignments to managerial and/or administrative tasks.
