POSITION: Pastry Cook

WHO WE ARE:
- Local family-owned bakery specializing in traditional sourdough breads using fresh-milled flour and local ingredients.
- We are a small, dynamic team looking to make a difference in the world of grains, baking, and food!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Is working toward understanding all of the necessary preparation steps required to produce all pastries.
- Operates large machinery in order to complete tasks.
- Works with equipment safety and food safety in mind.
- Ensures all bakery tasks are complete and of the highest quality.
- Understands the importance of time and temperature to ensure that the pastries are consistently made every day.
- Has the ability to look ahead and prepare for the following day.
- Understands the bakery reports to prepare for the following day.
- Helps facilitate a smooth production flow.
- Helps to clean dishes, keep the bakery organized, and maintaining a clean work environment.
- High level of engagement with staff to create a comfortable and productive work environment.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
- A positive attitude and a desire to learn.
- Able to perform basic math and use scale.
- Focused, organized, and detail oriented.
- History of great attendance and punctuality as well as reliable transportation.
- Able to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Food Handler Certification (administrated by the company at no cost)
- Able to stand and work on your feet for 8-hour shifts.
- Previous high volume food production baking experience preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., sometimes multiple times a day.

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
