Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable Floater Teacher to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will play a vital part in creating a nurturing and engaging learning environment by seamlessly stepping into various classrooms and supporting diverse student needs. Your enthusiasm and flexibility will help ensure that every child receives high-quality instruction, whether in preschool, toddler care, or special education settings. Duties
- Provide coverage and support across different classrooms, including preschool, toddler care, and special education settings, ensuring continuity of instruction and care.
- Assist with lesson planning and curriculum development tailored to the developmental stages of children, incorporating literacy education, math, physical education, and Montessori methods when applicable.
- Implement behavior management strategies to foster positive behavior and promote a safe, respectful classroom environment.
- Support teachers with classroom management, including organizing activities, maintaining routines, and managing classroom supplies.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote childhood development, social-emotional skills, and early intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with staff on individualized plans for children requiring special education or additional support services.
- Communicate effectively with parents and team members about children’s progress and welfare, ensuring transparency and fostering trust.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or private school environments is preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, including curriculum development, classroom management, and behavior management techniques.
- Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention strategies, and literacy education is highly desirable.
- Experience with standardized testing, tutoring, teaching physical education, or Montessori methods will be considered an asset.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and engage with children’s families.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments while maintaining a positive attitude.
- Certification or training in childhood development or early childhood education is advantageous but not mandatory.
